This sculpture was created by Frederick MacMonnies. He was a 20th century artist. This sculpture is called the Bacchante with Infant Faun. I believe this sculpture allows us to see our society as it is. The woman are the main care takers of children and they do a very good job with it. Females also love doing this for all children. The sculpture shows a woman carrying a baby with what looks to be a toy in her hand. She is playing with this baby making sure it is happy with her. This artist is phenomenal because I believe he has trully shaped our society in his work.

I am very excited for next year. Not only will I be a sophomore, but my swim team has moved up to the metro league! We willl be competing against the better high schools and I could not be more excited. I know it will be hard to do, but it is a great experience for myself and my team. I cannot wait!

A website that i normally visit is YouTube. That is a website for music and videos. When I go to this website I normally think of a song and I type it in and I will listen to it. I could listne to music all day if i could. Music is what keeps me sane and its one of my many loves. I need music to calm me down from anything and everything. It is what I use as a "safe place to hide" type of thing. When i listen to music everything goes away and its just me and I love that about music. it is apart of my identity because music is always around me. Outside of school there is never a moment when I do not have music in my ear. I even listen to it when I fall asleep.

I think the artist of this painting was trying to express his inner feeling, explain his/her life, and just entertain people with its beauty. I believe this artists' inner feeling was a sense of repitition. The artwork shows the same thing over and over again and maybe that means the person who created this feels like things are going in circles. I also believe this is explaining the persons life. Since it is the same thing again and again this could mean the artist has a repitition of events in his or her life. Finally, I believe the artist simply wanted to entertain viewers. This is a beautiful artwork and everyone is entertained by it. I think the artist is great for creating this piece.

I would love to live under water! To me the water just feels like a peaceful place. I have been swimming and playing polo for 6 years and the water has become a necessity in my life. In the water every issue outside goes away. The water is the place where I find sanctuary. It is also so beautiful. The colors are vibrant and lively. Though my only problem would be breathing. I plant to one day grow gills and I will live underwater.

While creating my portrait I was able to feel artistic. During the project I had to grid out the paper. Next I had to sketch out what was in my picture. Once I did that I was able to paint in all the values. This was a very fun thing to do because I know that all artist do this and I was able to learn it all first hand.

This is a picture from Carrie Mae Weems. I can relate to this because I as an individual love to dance freely like this. This woman is dancing and no one is around to see her. I enjoy doing this because it allows me to express myself without judgement or laughter. This is the only way I would be able to dance in front of people.

The artist I chose is Laura Owens. I chose her because her artwork looks very peaceful and calm. With all the chaos that goes on in the world, her work makes me smile and think of being in another world where things are happy and lovely. This artwork of hers makes it seem like the viewer is looking out a window and seeing the land. The beautiful mountains are in the far distance and the water and the sun rise or sun set gives it a nice pretty glow. Laura Owens was born in Euclid, Ohio, in 1970. She is still living today.

This is Edward Cullen and he is a vampire. Everyone thinks that all vampires eat humans and are dangerous and viscious. However, Edward Cullen does not eat humans, he lives off the blood of animals. So that is a stereotype because people automatically assume that he would eat humans but he does not.

This picture shows layering. It is very clear that the hand is not actually holding the sign. It was placed right on top of the hand. The picture is saying "I shop therefore I am," which, in my opinion, means I shop and that makes me who I am so be proud of me because I will not change myself for you. But that is just me. The artist of this is Barbara Kruger. This could also be appropriation.

In this class I think it was a great class. When I was younger I wanted to be an artist and in grade school we did have an art class but it was only half the year while the other half was music. So I didn't get much out of the classes especially because I was young and I didnt understand. In seventh grade I transffered to a different school that did not have an art class. So when I was old enough to understand, there wasnt a class for me. Going into high school knowing I was going to be taking an art class was a good feeling. I learned about the elements and principles of art and the history of where it came from and so far it has been a great experience for me.

I find this handmade book fascinating and well crafted first of all because the book has spirals and its still an accordion. I see all of someone's memories on the book and I love when people do this because I do it too. So the creator of this book has used pictures instead of drawings or cutting shapes and pasting them on. I find it intersesting because when someone puts memories into something, you can tell what kind of person they were/ are and what they've gone through in life. It could be things you've never known about the person when you've known them your whole life. So it's definately an interesting book.

First of all I LOVE this drawing! I think it is very cool and amazing. Anyway this drawing clearly has color to it. It also has a varity of lines. I see the texture in multiple places and i see many different shapes. I love how it is completely abstract, it wasn't made to really be anything. But even though that is true it is something because it is a form of art.

This picture shows color and pattern. The repeated flowers show the pattern and the different colors shows the element of color.

Women and people of color are hardly recognized for the hard work they put into art. People mainly focus on white males art work. Its unfair to all women and people of color. Women and people of color work hard to create art and nobody gives them the recognition they deserve. I feel that people should give as much credit and be as respectful to them as tthey are to the white male. Why is it the white male anyway? What's so special about them that they get to take away everything from women and people of color?

my very first art experience♥
i never used to be interested in art, it was always boring to me. In 4th grade in art class we had to trace someones body on a big piece of paper and then paint it. It was the most fun i ever had. Art was no longer boring to me. i saw it in a new way and now i try to make my own. Im glad I was there that day. My friends and I had painted the body far from normal. As we laughed and painted in new colors I began to appreciate art and now it makes me very happy :)
